INGENIO Solutions 1: Legacy Rosen Arms – Dassault Aircraft

Issue No. 1

Legacy Rosen Arms – Dassault Aircraft

The Problem

In the day, Rosen Aviation pioneered individual passenger monitors, which were a standard option on Dassault Falcon Business Jets. The proprietary Rosen Aviation electro-mechanical socket enabled the video monitors to connect and disconnect, allowing them to be stowed and then deployed once in flight.

Today, however, not only are these monitors and mechanisms no longer supported by Rosen Aviation, but they have become obsolete in the world of audio-video sources and distribution on aircraft. Today’s passengers bring aboard their own media via their Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs), such as mobile phones and tablets like iPads and Android Tablets. Modern cabin management systems can now stream media to these devices via products such as GoGo Avance and others.

In most cases, these Rosen Aviation arms, receptacles, or monitors are in-operational, unserviceable, and unusable.

The INGENIO Aerospace Solution

INGENIO Aerospace has designed a product solution that addresses the obsolescence issue of the Rosen legacy receptacle and monitor problem. INGENIO offers direct form-fit replacement receptacles, arms, and tablet holders that provide USB Power Delivery (PD) functionality and are CAN-TSO- C71 certified and DO-160G qualified.

These multi-purpose products allow passengers to use their PEDs for productivity or to watch their carry-on content and allow fast charging of the devices via USB-C Charger while the cabin-arm and tablet-holder assembly is installed. When the Cabin Tablet Arm is removed, the INGENIO receptacle remains a usable PD USB-C charger port. This solution breathes new life into aircraft cabins with “dead” Rosen Aviation receptacles.

Details: INGENIO Parts Required

The INGENIO legacy Rosen arm display solution is to install the latest Power Delivery ‘Fast Charge’ Receptacles, with a minor modification, to be used with the INGENIO Falcon Cabin Tablet Arm and an INGENIO Tablet Holder.’

Changing out the Rosen Aviation receptacles (Rosen PNs 0100-XXX) with the form fit INGENIO FJ PD Receptacles PN 209-8150-011 (3A @ 5 VDC) is a quick and easy installation that uses the existing wiring with just a change to the connector type.

The compatible INGENIO Falcon Cabin Arms are PNs 209-8310-211 (10-inch arm) or 209-8350-211 (5-inch arm) with the 209-8042-011 Tablet Holder (USB C).

Dear Aircraft Operators, Dealers and INGENIO Partners,

We’re happy to introduce the first issue of many, which we are calling “SOLUTIONS.”

At INGENIO, the word ‘design’ means – doing something with purpose, intention, and with passion. We design and produce many innovative products that enhance passenger experience, and that also address specific aircraft operator and installer ‘problems.’

The objective of ‘SOLUTIONS’ is to focus on and communicate specific solutions we have developed for the business aviation market. We wanted to keep the format simple. The front of the ‘SOLUTIONS’ sheet describes the ‘problem’ we at INGENIO found an opportunity to help solve and the ‘solution’ we designed to do so.

The second page describes the specific products and parts we designed and what you need to solve that problem.

We hope that you find these useful. As an aircraft operator, some of these solutions
may resonate with your fight department or others you know in the industry. As an
installer, these may help you to let your customers know that s@o.lCu/t+io:n’@smaQr’e8a.v9a5i:la’?b)le/!)-3./C)

Please reach out to us with your questions or interest. Kindest regards,
